Why should I SIGN instead of using my PIN?
Signature transactions are processed through the Visa network and give you added security to help prevent, detect, and resolve fraud. On many terminals, pressing CREDIT allows you to sign instead of using your PIN. If you are unsure, tell the cashier you would like to sign for your transaction. You should only use your PIN at secure ATM’s or for cash back purchases.
Credit or Debit? What is the difference?
A Visa Debit Card works just like a check, only better. For each kind of transaction, Credit (signature) or Debit (PIN), the amount is deducted directly from your checking account. Better than checks or cash – a Visa Debit Card is more convenient, more secure, and allows better record keeping.
